LASIAMA TOPS ENVIRONMENTAL HYGIENE, SANITATION APPRAISAL FOR JUNE

Lagos State Infrastructure Asset Management Agency (LASIAMA) has been adjudged best in the monthly Ministries, Departments and Agencies’ environmental hygiene and proper sanitation award for the month of June 2022.

A statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of The Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Omobolaji Tajudeen Gaji, said an appraisal was carried out across MDAs in the Main and Old Secretariat Complexes and, upon completion of the exercise, LASIAMA emerged first in terms of environmental hygiene and sanitation.

Gaji explained that the appraisal of sanitation status of the MDAs within the precinct of the Secretariat Complexes was initiated in April 2021 to ensure that the ambience of government buildings portrays a positive image to the public.

The Permanent Secretary commended LASIAMA for the achievement and enjoined the Agency to maintain a clean environment in consonance with the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda of the State Government.

“The Cleanliness Award was initiated in a bid to maintain a healthy and hygienic environment and also in line with the directive of the Head of Service as detailed in the HOS Circular of 23rd March, 2021”, he added.

Recall that LASIAMA had won the first edition of the award for the year and maintained its track record for the highest standards of sanitation and hygiene, which has earned the Agency first position several times.

The administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is presently pursuing its infrastructure development and the maintenance of existing facilities, just as it provides new buildings in line with its Greater Lagos vision.
