LASIAMA BAGS AWARD FOR CLEANLINESS

Lagos State Infrastructure Asset Management Agency (LASIAMA), has been adjudged the second best MDA in the monthly Ministries, Departments and Agencies’ environmental hygiene and sanitation award for the month of October, 2021.

In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of The Environment and Water Resources, Mrs. Belinda Odeneye, an appraisal was carried out across MDAs in the Main and Old Secretariat Complexes and upon completion of the exercise, LASIAMA came second in terms of environmental hygiene and sanitation.

She said LASIAMA has maintained its track record over the years for the highest standards of sanitation and hygiene, which earned the Agency first position in the August edition.

Odeneye commended LASIAMA for the achievement and enjoined the Agency to continue to maintain a clean environment in consonance with the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda of the State Government.

She explained that the Ministry of The Environment and Water Resources instituted appraisal of the sanitation status of MDAs within the precinct of the Secretariat Complexes in April, 2021 because the buildings are places where most of the interaction between citizens and Government occurs and its environment expresses the image of the Government to the public.

“The cleanliness award was initiated in a bid to maintain a healthy and hygienic environment and also in line with the directive of the Head of Service as detailed in the HOS Circular with reference no: CIR/HOS/024 dated 23rd March, 2021”, the Permanent Secretary revealed.

Recall that the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is presently pursuing infrastructure development, especially through the maintenance of existing facilities and provision of new ones in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda.
